My wife and I received a National Rice-O-Matic, mdl 5R-10E as a Wedding gift in 1967.
Yesterday September 31, 2015. That machine worked about 48 years.
My mother had the same model and she gave one to us. She would be really happy that it last that long.
I have that exact same model. My Japanese mother gave it to me when I left home for college.
It’s been back and forth from the West Coast to the East Coast and back. When I met my 2nd husband, he had been given the exact same model by his Japanese mother.
It’s still going strong in 2022 though the cord wore out. I got a replacement at the hardware store.
