Raphaël Szwarc: Zoë. The best way I can describe it: as Radio UserLand does for the Web, Zoë does for email. This is the program I've wanted to write for a long time: it indexes your mail (with Lucene) and lets you do something useful with it.

Don't be put off by the awkwardly phrased manifesto, download it, and try it out. So far it seems very nice for a version 0.1 product. It's written in Java, I'm not sure whether it requires OS X or not.

So Doc is a non-TV-viewer who watches Six Feet Under, too. It's on Wednesday night here, and I meet with my advisor on Wednesday, so I'm ready for it after the buildup and panic of Tuesday night's regular “Oh no! I'm meeting with my advisor tomorrow and I have no work done!”. The closing scene of this episode was so real it almost made me cry. At one point in my life, I was witness to something similar. I kept on waiting for Claire to go down and reach out to her mother, but it never happened.

So, guess what tonight is? Back to work!

Somehow upgrading to Mac OS X 10.1.4, or similar, fixed my problem with Classic refusing to start up twice. That's really nice.

I've been sick all day. That's not.

Nothing more needed, I think.

As a followup to my post on WhatSize a few days ago, Jay Tamboli suggests xdiskusage. It requires fltk (installable with Fink) and X11, but works very nicely. Here's what the output looks like for my root partition.
