ICeCoffEE 1.5b5 released
ICeCoffEE 1.5b5 is out. The only remaining known bug I plan to fix before 1.5 final relates to disabling localized services.
This version includes bug fixes and compatibility updates (particularly for Safari 4 Beta), as well as no longer doing anything if you ⌘-click outside text on a Web page in WebKit/Safari.

Sadly, it’s not working in Chromium, nor presumably in Google Chrome.
Yeah, ICeCoffEE is pretty specific to Safari’s variant of WebKit. I have not investigated how big the differences are in Chrome/Chromium, or how hard it would be to support. My current priority for ICeCoffEE development is 10.6 support; it’s pretty unlikely I’ll add Chrome any time soon (someone else is welcome to do it, though).
Do you have any intention of updating this for 10.6? It’s been sorely missed. If not, thanks anyway for the many years of support for previous versions!
I certainly planned on it but I’ve not been able to find the time between med school and work. There’s some chance I’ll have time in late June (at that point it might be 10.7 instead) but I can’t make any promises.
ICeCoffEE is open source so if anyone is interested in updating it to 10.6, please feel free to do so; I should be able to find time to review your changes. Essentially this would involve ripping out the services functionality and replacing any code that doesn’t work in 64-bit. Ideally I would also like to stop using Internet Config as it’s on its last legs and prevents ICeCoffEE from supporting Unicode/IDN.
